I heard a humm on Cookie's programme on Wednesday (IIRC) and told him about it. Seems the humm probably was a problem at the Frinton end. Maybe this was the same.

I've had it happen during my shows a couple of times, but it's soon cleared. It became solid during Simons show yesterday.

The following copied from my post on FoBL: It's a problem somewhere in the systems at Frinton Big John. Has been affecting much of our output. Currently under active investigation. If Paul's show is put on Listen Again, that will play fine.

If it was on my own HiFi, I would look for a loose earthwire but maybe that's too simple for a complex playout system.

That's exactly what's being done. Almost certain it's a grounding problem somewhere at Frinton. However, knowing the complexity of connections in my own studio and having seen photos of just some of the connections that are being checked at Frinton, it's not quite as simple as you might expect. One possibility that's also being investigated is an internal fault on the mixer desk.
